I like James Bond—but only the early films. The ones from the 60s and 70s. It has nothing to do with the actors and everything to do with the atmosphere and music. There’s a Love Boat feel to things. Here then, is his tribute to the films, expressed as an opening sequence of the Velvet Paw of Asquith film that will be made one day when the novels become staggeringly popular. There’s another film of closing credits, too. All I need now is the one-and-a-half hours in the middle.
